The 2022 Music Business Accelerator showcase was the first major project I took on after moving back to Tulsa, and it immediately became the moment that reconnected me to the creative world I grew up around. Tulsa Creative Engine trusted me with shaping a high-stakes event for nine emerging artists, all completing a program built to strengthen Tulsa’s music economy. I designed the full creative system — from stage visuals and lighting direction to prop design, branded collateral, and the technical run of show — partnering closely with Philbrook’s A/V team to make sure every cue landed the way it should.
Once the lights came down, I shifted into post-production, leading the edit for the official recap video. The goal wasn’t just to document the night, but to translate the energy in the room into a piece that TCE could use for storytelling, fundraising, and future recruitment. I cut the footage in a way that captured the organization’s overall mission while still amplifying the communal spirit of the cohort.
The response from the TCE team and the artists was immediate and deeply validating. When co-founder Chris Davis pulled me aside afterward and said he hoped I was ready for more projects, it felt like a door opening. This project not only set the tone for my partnership with Tulsa Creative Engine — it marked the beginning of my return to Tulsa’s creative ecosystem. It was the first time I felt, clearly and fully, that coming home would lead somewhere meaningful.
