What It Means to “ACT Different”
Just like that, my time at ACT House is complete. ✌️
“The strength behind a successful company comes from the strength of it’s team.” This ethos reigned so true in my life for the past year surrounded by some of the best architects, creatives, and techies that the world’s startup ecosystem has to offer. To be part of a mission focused on building team potential through human analytics and accelerator programs has been priceless in my own pursuit of growth.
I could go on and on about the countless memories made with a stellar team alongside inspirational founders. However, as I reflect, what stands out most is what I’ve learned. In the spirit of the ‘Power of Three’, there are a few gems worth sharing from the ACT fam that I will carry for the rest of my life:
🚀 Proactive vs Reactive - Adaptation is a skill, and knowing the problem clearly is critical to staying ahead of any curveballs. Data and experience will help steadily steer the boat towards the North Star rather than constantly renegotiating with environmental obstacles to stay afloat.
🚀 Being More vs Doing More - In hustle culture, it is easy to conflate doing a lot with productivity. The goal is optimization. Challenge the systems, patterns, and biases that may be taking focus away from the problem in order to utilize time effectively. Be more.
🚀 2% Better Every Day - Progress is gradual and often slow moving. No one is asking for overnight change. Break down each day into blocks, sprints, and tasks. Chip away at each one and look back at the growth.
The team at ACT House gave me the support I needed to hone creative skills, heal from professional trauma, and lean into the strengths of my archetype. Grateful is an understatement. I am eager to take what I’ve learned into what’s next as I show the world what it truly means to #actdifferent.
